Created Commons - Arts in Nature Showcase

 —  —

Westcrest Park, 9000 8th Ave SW, Seattle

I'm playing a 45 minute set as part of this wonderful festival, and will be joined by dancer Noelle Price for a number of pieces!

The festival is free (: and here's more about Created Commons:

August 27-September 5th 2021, West Seattle's Westcrest Park will be animated with kinetic musical sculpture, eco-art installations and BIPOC centered performances, wellness offerings, eco-arts workshops and science panels to foster resiliency in our community.

Created Commons is an expansive multi-agency initiative that centers, engages, and employs BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) artists, communities, and cultural workers to activate public space for community connections, resonance and resiliency. The program leverages multi-agency collaboration and the Office of Arts & Culture's inclusive programming and activation models to support economic and community recovery. Created Commons builds on the momentum of the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) Stay Healthy Streets and Stay Healthy Blocks and the success of our Viaduct Arts Festival and ALL RISE programs to activate our City's space in vibrant and creative ways in the Summer months of 2021.

As part of Creative Commons, the performance, production company, Lelavision (Ela Lamblin & Leah Okamoto Mann), has been tapped to provide a platform for the BIPOC centered performances, wellness offerings, and science panels. Centered around the kinetic sculpture "Interspecies Communication", performances, workshops and talks will take place through the nine days, exploring the theme of "healthy eco systems, micro and macro" and "the intersection of social justice, racial justice and climate justice" with an intention of cultivating liberative moments for all who join us at the park.

Concert at Deception Pass State Park Ampitheater

 —  —

Deception Pass State Park North Beach Amphitheater, 41020 WA-20, Oak Harbor

I'm thrilled to be part of the Washington State Parks Folk and Traditional Arts Program!

All are invited to attend the American Roots Music Series at Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island. This series of eight free concerts takes place at 7 p.m. on Saturday evenings during the summer, with my performance on August 7th.

The music series, now in its 15th year, resumes in person as Washington state begins to reopen for public events. Park staff request that concert goers cluster in groups of no more than 15 from two or fewer households and maintain 6 feet of distance from other groups. People who have not been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are encouraged to wear face coverings.

Thanks to generous support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Deception Pass State Park Foundation, and Island County, the concerts are free to the public, though day visitors will need a Discover Pass to park.
